Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited the ongoing Old Pipri Main Project, a critical initiative under KWSSIP. This project focuses on replacing damaged sections of the 72’’, 66’’, and 54’’ dia Old Pipri Water Main with X-42 grade pipes to ensure the uninterrupted flow of water from Pipri to the city.
This 4.5 km stretch from the Pipri Filtration Plant to National Highway (N-5) is notorious for frequent leakages and pipe bursts, causing significant water loss and supply disruptions. The replacement aims to enhance the system’s resilience, ensuring that 70 MGD of water reaches Karachi’s eastern areas efficiently
