Training Session on Gender, Social and Environmental Issue

A training session on Gender, Social, and Environmental Issues was recently held at the Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP), bringing together members of the project team, including staff from construction, ironworks, HSE, and contractors. The session focused on enhancing understanding and integration of inclusive and sustainable practices across all project activities.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Hameeda Kaleem, Gender Specialist; Mr. Arif Khan, Social Development Specialist; Ms. Kiran Bano and Mr. Masood Ahmed, both Environmental Specialists. Through a series of interactive discussions and practical insights, the session emphasized the importance of mainstreaming gender sensitivity, ensuring social accountability, and upholding environmental safeguards in the infrastructure development process.

This initiative reflects KWSSIP’s ongoing commitment to building a more equitable and environmentally responsible urban water and sanitation system for Karachi.
